The School of Grace is a non-profit mission of Grace Lutheran Church located in Raleigh, NC. The preschool serves typically developing children, children with special needs, and children from refugee families, ages 6 months to 5 years. As a Christian program, children learn and play in a Christ-centered environment. As a Parent Participatory Program, parents are actively involved in the education of their children.

Family Potluck
Thank you to everyone who attended the family potluck! We had quite an impressive turnout! The food was delicious, but the social time was even better! The children enjoyed playing; their laughter was infectious! The adults were quite efficient as we approved the budget and voted in the board members for next year. We laid the groundwork for August, when we meet for the Parent Workday and Parent Orientation. I look forward to gathering our preschool family together again. I’ve missed you!
Summer Camp
Summer camp was full of: observing the tadpoles, making fossils from clay, learning about spiders and their webs, creating edible spiders, singing spider songs and using scarves to simulate webs, learning about insects and their purpose, creating our own buggy t-shirts, adding to our journals, finding outdoor critters in the sensory table, playing a caterpillar counting game, going on a nature walk, making binoculars and
collecting interesting items from our walk, "singing" the book The Carrot Seed, learning about the garden/earthworms/composting, vegetable printing, planting flowers, eating snack as a large group outside, running, climbing, splashing, and reading every day!We have truly had an exceptional experience with your children! Thank you for sharing them with us!

Tours of the preschool continue throughout the summer, by appointment. Each class has limited openings. Interested parents may leave a message at the preschool office (ph. 787-4740) or send an email through the website (

Ladybug, my Little Friend (sung to "Michael, Row the Boat Ashore")
We placed imaginary aphids on our flat hand, palm up (leaf), then used ladybug finger puppets to eat the aphids. Castanets gave us the chomping, rhythmical sound of eating.
